Lord Cromer, after visiting Gondokoro, returned to Khartoum. lie wit delighted at Hie evidence of the Soudan’s progress, though still needing railways, population, and more British officials. He regards a Sua-kim-Berber railway as essential to render the Soudan self-supporting. It would cost two and a-half millions.
