FIRE IN BAKERY

i’ljD bakery establishment of Mr A. F Miller, of Caversham, was destroyed hydro early this morning. Two bakers’ vans and one horse were destroyed. There was insurance of £l5O in the New Zealand office. The owner estimates his loss at £l5O above that sum. DEATH OF MR 11. E SHACKLOCK. Mi 11. E. Shaddock, the well-known Dunedin business man, who bus fiom a small beginning worked up an extensive business as maker of ranges, etc., was found dead in an outhouso of his residence to-day. He had retired from active business for some time, leaving it in charge of his sons. A CASE DISMISSED. At the Police Court, in the case of John Campbell, charged with incest, there was no corroborative evidence, and as the young woman, though capable of giving evidence, was simple minded, tho Magistrate dismissed the charge.
