IIUTT LOAN PROPOSALS,

The loan proposals, in volving £1.7.000 for the Council Chambers, street improvements. drainage, etc., have been carried by the ratepayers of Lower Hutt. A LICENSING CASE. The Victoria College Council has decided to advertise for a professor of biology. The committee to whom the question of establishing a course of civil engineering had been referred, reported that though there was a considerable demand for instruction in this direction, there was more urgent demand to establish a chair of biology.
