Tho wool sales opened at Timaru this morning. The catalogue comprised 2000 bales. English and colonial buyers were well represented. Bidding was very spirited. The wool shown was in hotter condition than for years. All classes were in good demand, and there was a rise all round on good wool of on late Christchurch sales, and 2d on the corresponding sale of last year. Tho highest prices were: Merino lid, half-bred lOd, threequarterbred 7!-d. STOCK SALE AT PATUTAHI. An important sale of stock and farming implements will bo held by Messrs Daigety and Co. at Mr J. Wad’s farm at Patutahi to-morrow, commencing ut 11 o’clock. Upwards of 2UOJ sheep will oo offered, including some good linos of owes and lambs, wethers, and dry ewes. A number of draught and light horses will also be offered, and should command good prices. Tho sale will bo conducted by Mr G. Eliott. Luncheon will bo provided.
