LABOR COUNCIL CANDIDATES. By Telegraph— Press Association— Wellington, last night. Tho Trades and Labor Council have decidod to run six labor candidates at tbo next Municipal election. THE KING'S PLEASURE. Tho King has been pleased to approve of tho titlo “ Royal,” which was granted to tbo New Zoaland Permanent Artillery, being extended to two branches of the artillery and engineers, into which tho forco have now bcon dividod. LAND VALUES. Tho advances oi values in suburban lands was shown to day, when 56 sections -t tho Lower Hutt, with an area of nino and a haji acres, realised -010,110. HAWERA SHOW. At tho Hawera Show Mr Grant's General Wheeler was champion in the draughts, and Mr Glynn’s St. Paul in tho thoroughbreds. The chief prize winners in the pig classes wore Messrs Jarvis, Grevillo, and Slack.
