A SUCCESSFUL GATHERING. j (Per Press i Dunedin, last night. ' Tho Otago A. anti P. Society’s Sutntner J Show was opeucd to day, under favorable ' cirentnstanccs. Tho entries show consiJerabie advance on last year, and the display was an undoubted success. The ' improvements at Tahuna Park, including now grandstand, wero much appreciated. Sheep, cattle and pigs wero judged to-day, there being good competition in most of tho classes. The following arc tho championship winners: - Strong combing Merino, Watson Shennan; fino combing Merino, W. and T. Telford ; Leicester, Little Bros.; English Leicester, rum, Littlo Bros.; two, D. Grant; Lincolns, J. Holmes; Romnoy, ram, Castleroek Co., and ewe, J. Miller. The prize for most points in Romneys was taken by W. and T, Telford; Southdown, James Johns was the only exhibitor. In Sbropshircs, Seth Smith took both championships ; fat sheep, N.Z. and 0. Land Co. In cattle, J. Gow took the championship for bull, and G. Anderson for cow and most points for polled Angus. Murray, Roberts and Co. took both championships in Ayrsbires ; Messrs K. and B. Ferguson, champion bull; P. McLeod, cow ; Alderney, A, Quicker ; fat cattle, Thacker Bros. In pigs, Seaoliffe Asylum and Johnston Bros, won the principal prizes,
