Tho analysis ni tho dust taken from wator caught in tho southern districts of Otago show that it is volcanic (lust, and not, as was supposed by some, dust from Australia. Evidonco points to its n® being from Mount Peloo, and ProfcsSPr Park, of tho School of Mines, is inclined to think it originated in South America, or probably in Victoria Land, in tho Antarctic circle.
