By Telegraph. Press Association. Copyrighi Sydney, Oct. 15.

Mr Barton was welcomed home at a representative gathering in the Town Hall. Speeches wore made congratulate him on tho satisfactory results of his mission to England. Replying to tho address of welcome, Sir E. Barton dwelt on tho improved understanding between Australia and England. “We are estimated at even a higher value than we would put on ourselves,” ho remarked; " and there is no need to expect that we will be overridden. Thero was nothing to fear from Britain, but we should not indulge in rash jingoism. There was nothing in tho determination of the Conference to cause us loss, aud much which will benefit tho Empire wherein we could be included.
