Slimes Robbery.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night. The Commissioner of Police has been advised of the arrest at Melbourne of Wrn. H. Essex, on a charge of breaking into the Waihi Goldmining Company’s premises at Waikino on October 27th, 1900, and stealing therefrom gold slimes and zinc shavings, valued at £7OO. It was in connection with the same robbery that Finn and Eager were recently sentenced in Auckland. Essex was until a month ago manager of the Equitable Life Assurance Company at Dunedin.
