SERIOUS CONFLICTS,
By Telegraph—Press Association— Paris, Aug. 19. In connection with tho religious trouble in France, the populace barricaded a school at Plouharnel, and deluged the gendarmes and soldiers with mud and stones.
Tho troops used sealing ladders, and the defenders threw burning faggots and trusses of straw, compelling them twico to retreat.
Eventually, the people capitulated at nightfall upon tho advice of members of the Scnato and local Council. Another serious conflict occurred at St. Meen between gendarmes, armed with swords, and peasants, with cudgels and stones. Twenty-seven people were injured.
