EVIDENCE AT THE ENQUIRY.
GAS IN THE MINE.
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, Aug 19. The Mount Kcmbla inquest has resumed. One miner stated that ho used damp coal dust iu tamping a shot. Auothcr declared that they frequently found gas in the mine, but not in sufficient quantity to cause them to report it. Later.—At the iMount Kembla enquiry yesterday a witness gave further instances of the finding of gas in tho mine. He saw it last nine months ago. He reported it, and was removed from the place. He admitted that tho management was very careful. Directly they received the report they stopped work and took precautions.
