TROOPSHIP MONTROSE.
By Telegraph—Press Assooiation. Auckland, yesterday. The troopship Moutroso passed Capo Maria Van Dieman at 2 p.m. on Saturday, and will probably arrivo hero to-night. Only tho Auckland Contingent will land hero. The Montrose proceeds South immediately- with tho Southern Contingents. It is understood that tho local dofonco authorities have boon instructed to mako official enquiries as to tho accommodation and food arrangements on tho Montrose, with tho view to sending any complaints to tho Commission uow sitting in Wellington. A report that tho troopship put into Russell proves incorrect. Tlioro was dolay in coming down tho coast, which has not been explained.

Tho non - arrival of the troopship Montrose is causing somo uneasinnoss in view of the fact that tho vessel passod Capo Maria at 2 p.m. on Saturday, and has not been reported at any of tho intervening ports. Tho Waiporo, which passed Capo Maria at 9.27 on Sunday, saw nothing ot tho troopship. She cxporioncod a moderato gale thence to tho port.
VESSEL SAFELY ARRIVED.
ANCHORED AT MOTUHIHI.
