ADDINGTON MARKETS.

Christchurch, last night. The Addington sales took place to-day. Fat Cattle : 15.5, mostly secondary sorts, were yarded. There was an improvement on prime beef, whiefi sold at IBs 6d to 24s ; prime steers, £9 5s to £lO 12s Gd ; others, .£6 10s to £H 10s ; best heifers £8 to J 69 15s ; cows, £5 to £8 l'2s Gd. There was no business done in stores. J oeu dairies stood well at £1 10s to £9 12s Gd , others were neglected at £4 to £6 10s. Fat Sheep : 0500 were yarded, mostly ewes, with a few good wc-thers. Exporters and butchers competed for suitable wethers, but the very best ewes were in demand. Anything likely to bo in lumb was neglected, and several lines were passed. Heavy wethers brought 10s to 22s 6d ; freezers, 15s to 18s Gd ; P r *m® heavy owes, 17s to 21s Hd ; good, l'-s 6d to lGs Gi ; inferior, Gs Gd to 11s. About 250 prime merino wethers were taken lor export at 10s Gd to 18s 7d. Fat lambs: GOO wore yarded, mostly secondary quality. Thoro was a better demand for good, and the bulk were taken for export at 103 Gd to 13s 5d ; a few oxtra good went at 14s 3d ; inferior, 7s 6d to 9s Gd. Store sheep: 800 woro yarded. Only a little lot of tho wethers in was sold at 11s 9d, in small lots. Good ewe 3 brought 10s Gd to 12s 8d; aged 7s 4d to 83, and boilers 2s 4d to 9s 6d, Lambs 8s 4d, and little lots 6s 3d to 9s 2d. Pigs : 400 were yarded. There was a better demand for fats, but stores were neglected. Baconers sold at 34s 6d to 51s Gd or 3:jd to 4d per lb. Porkers realised ‘2ls to 3'2s or 4d per lb, stores 10s to 18s ; small 5s 6d to 93 Gd.
