ROUGH WEATHER AFFECTS YARDING.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, last night. At the Addington markets, there wore very small yardings on account of the rough weather. Eat cattle.—Only 96 were yarded, and the small supply caused an improvement in values. Beef fetched 19s to 24s 6d, and over for choice heifers ; steers, £7 7s 6d to £9 7s Gd; heifers, £5 15s to £8 7s Gd ; cows, £4 los to £7, and up to £3 for extra prime stores and dairies. There wore virtually no stores in. Best dairy cows wore in demand at from £7 to £9 12s 6d ; others were neglected, and realised £4 to £G 10s.
Fat Sheep.—Only 2500 were yarded, mostly ewes. Good wethers and ewes were in demaud at low rates, but secondary ewes sold irregularly. Heavy wethers mado from 18s to 20s 3d ; freezers, 15s to 17s lid ; lighter, 14s 2d to 14s 9d ; heavy ewes, 14s to 16s 2d ; others, 9s to los. Only merino wethers were in want for freezing at 14s 8d to 17s 7d. Fat Lambs.—73o wore yarded, mostly secondary lots, a good many being passed to go to the factory. Heavy lambs for butchers sold from 13s 3d to 14s ; freezers, 10s to 13s ; inferior, down to Bs. Store Sheep.-- Only 480 offered, and business was confined to tiro sale of 142 owes at 11s Id, and 132 lambs at 7s.
Pigs.—There were 350 offered, mostly fats. Baconers sold from 34s to 48s 6d, to 51s Od for heavy, or 31d to 3 : [d per lb. Porkors made from 19s to 31s (id, or 3;jd per lb; stores, 10s to 19s; wcauers, Is to 9s 6d.
