At the instance of Lord Defreyne, with a view of forcing the law laid down in the House of Lords in the case of Quinn versus Latham, the Court of Chancery at Dublin has issued writs against thirty persons, including several Nationalist members of the House of Commons, Michael Davitt and other. members of the United Irish League, proprietors of the Freeman’s Journal, on a charge of conspiracy to compel the sale of property below ita value in the course of the norer.'u agitation on Defreyne’s Connaught estate. Damages are claimed. Tiie trial will be the most important for years.
