EXCELLENT BATTING IN BAD LIGHT.
TWO WICKETS FOR 102. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, June 12. Play was resumed at 5.15 p.m., but the light was very bad. The batting was, nevertheless, excellent, Maclaren getting two superb fours to leg, off Jones. Armstrong displaced Saunders at seventy. Maclaren, with his score at thirty-four, was missed by Darling, in a sharp righthanded chance in the slips, off Trumper’s bowling ; otherwise his batting was excellent. When the stumps were drawn, there were two wickets down for a hundred and two. Maclaren, not out, 47 ; Jackson, not out, 45.
