An agreement establishing intercolonial free-trade in British South Africa fixes the transit rate of goods imported into tho Transvaal through tho Cape and Natal ports at one instead of three per cent. It admits Cape and Natal goods to tho Transvaal free of duty. SHAREBROKING GAMES. The liquidators of tho Londou and Globe Finance Corporation sued several brokers for a million damages for breach of contract in regard to dealing with Lako View Consols shares, Whittaker and Wright alleging that they agreed not to soil under £l7 per share, and divido tho profits with tho London and Globe Company. A verdict was given for defendants, the jury finding that no contract had been made. BULGARIAN INDEPENDENCE. The Standard’s Berlin correspondent states that the Czar has informally recognised Bulgarian independence. The Sultan of Turkey’s name was not mentioned in the toasts during Printo Fordinand’s prosent visit to St. Petersburg. RUSSIA AND CHINA. Tho Times’ Pekin correspondent states that, in order to meet tho Russian view, China, with Great Britain’s consent, promises that China herself will build any railway between Pekin and tho Great Wail without foroign capital, and not mortgago it as security to any foreign power. SEQUEL TO DREYFUS CASE.

In the House a statement was mado that the primary object of the Queensland Timber Trust was to get local timber used for butter boxes and rcduco the price. Questioned if he would carry out his promise to take action against trusts Mr Kington said that Government were determined to legislato against trusts that oppressed tho public. A Bill would be introduced next Beßsion. There was no proof that this trust intended to raise prices. Only when prices were unduly raised the Government proposed to act.
