SOUTHLAND SHOW.

INVERCARGILL, last night. The Southland A. and P. Winter Show was opened to-day, It is the best exhibition and mqst tastefully arranged show that the Associaton has yet held. In the class for factory cheese .Wyndham was first and Gore second for 5 cwt. Cheddar, high color, cut of twelve entries. ; Edendale factory took both of th? first prizes for 2 cwt. of straw color, and 35 lbs, for Which there were eleven entries ; also for two cases containing 12 lbs. of cheese, for which there were ten entries Edendale had the best single cheese in ,the hall, with Gore second, there being seventeen entries. Mr Walter Blackie, Of Mosgiel, was the most prominent outside exhibitor of roots, and secured many awards. The German Bacon (Factory was the only, outside exhibitor Of cheese,
