Mutton : Now Zealand sorts unchanged. Lamb : Prime Canterbury 4 15-16 d, other sorts unchanged. River Plato mutton, heavy and light, 3 13-16 d. New Zealand beef : 1801 b to 2201 b, fair average quality, fores 4Jd, hinds 51. Wool : Low crossbred has fully recovered the decline. Good crossbreds show a slight improvement. Merino aro unchanged. Gear wool sold at s£d, Otekaike Bjjd, Marchburn IOJd. To date 159,386 bales have been catalogued, and 155,886 sold.

The following cablegram has been received from the Agent-General, dated the 24th inst. “ Mutton market firm ; average price to-day for Canterbury mutton 4£d, North Island mutton other than Wellington Meat Export Company’s, 4d. The stocks on hand are light. The high prices are restricting business in the mutton market. Eamb market quiet. The weather has lately been very unfavorable to the sale of lamb. The average price of tho Canterbury brand is sd, other than Canterbury 4Jd. Beef market dull ; *- New Zealand hinds yd, fores 4}d. Butter:.

market steady at 103 s, Danish 106 s, Siborian 955, Canadian 100 s. Cheese market firm at 59s and 60s. Hemp market depressed. Thero is an indisposition to sell distant hemp. Good fair Wellington grade, on spot, £35 ; June to August shipment, £3l. Buyers have been offering for cocksfoot seed more freely. New Zealand 171 b standard 4Ss.”
