By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, May 22. At the wool sales, the Kaputono clip sold at an average price of 9d, and the Elderslie clip at 13 5 Bd. Wool is brisk of sale. Merinos are very firm. Crossbreds are unchanged. Mossrs Dalgety and Co., Limited, report : “ We held our monthly stock sale at Makaraka on Thursday, when stock came forward in excess of advertised numbers. The attendance was limited, tho usual “hanger-on" being conspicuous by his absonce; consequently those who were there came on business. We have to report good trade under the hammer, and although prices for store wethers were not based, as they Bhould bo, on fat prices, we managed to clear the bulk of our catalogue. Cattle continue in good demand, and we yarded some good-skinned and conditioned bullocks, which attracted a lot of attention. Heifers in calf are still looked for, anything of that description being keenly competed for. Wo quote : " Sheep.—Two and four-tooth ewes, with a sprinkling of older sheep, 7s; fresh full-mouth owes, 6s; cull ewes, 2s 6d ; woolly lambs, good os 9d, others 3s 3d; 2-tooth wethers, 9s 7d; 2 and 4-tooth wethers, 8s 6d (a cheap line). Cattle.—Heifers, 18 months to 2 years, in calf, £4 ss, £4 10s, and £4 15s; empty cows, from £2 7s 6d to T 3 14s; steers, 18 months to 2 years, T 4 ; 2 to 2J years, £5 ; 24 to 3 years, £6 2s; yearlings, £2_2s; w'eaners, according to quality, from 15s to £2. “ Our next sale will be held on the 19th June.”
