AMERICA’S GOOD WISHES,

President Roosevelt, in a letter to President Palma, expressed friendship and good wishes for the stability and success of the Cuban Republic. The Cuban colors were hoisted with great rejoicing. The cavalry and warships have withdrawn. Secretary Hay notified the Powers of the independence of Cuba. The House of Representatives passed a unaui mous resolution welcoming the birth of the Republic.
