POLITICAL ADDRESS.
MONEY FRITTERED AWAY ON RAILWAY WORKS. [By Telegraph—Tress Association.] Dunedin, last night. Mr J. A. Millor, senior member for the City, addressed a well-attended meeting of his constituents this evening. Ho oxpressed himself against the creation of an Imperial Reserve in the colony, and opposes anything in the shape of a standing army. He thinks it impossible for the present population to go on borrowing two or three millioos yearly for public ■works. Much of the money was frittered away on railway works instead of pushing on large works to a reproductive point. The money was being spent in some districts to keep people sweet, and the party in power. He denied that the legislation had driven capital out of the colony. Generally ho supported the Government and their policy. A vote of thanks and confidence was carried unanimously.
