AI the Westland Land Board meeting an important point was raised “ Has the Board power to grant llaxcutting licenses, on areas held as special dredging claims, or prospecting licenses ?” The Board decided to refer the matter to the Crown Land officers for decision. Over 10,002 acres were applied for. for flax-cutting purposes.
