A BRAVE CONSTABLE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, last night. At the meeting of the Borough Council this evening, it was decided to bring under the notice of the Royal Humane Society the bravery of Constable Oliphant, in connection with the fatality when the lad Crowther was drowned, and on the day previous when he assisted in rescuing three young girls from drowning.

THE TENTH. A resolution was also passed that the Council strengthen the hands of Mr Fraser, M.H.R., in urging tho Minister for Defence to allow the North Island section of the Tenth Contingent to mobilise at Napier. It was pointed out that no difficulty was likely to be experienced in the matter of the transport arrangements.
