BOY DROWNED.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, last night,

A drowning fatality occurred this afternoon in the Tutaekuri River, within a mile and a half of the town. Three lads, named Frederick, Stanly, and Herbert Burton, were bathing, and the latter finished, leaving Frederick in the water. Shortly afterwards the brothers missed Frederick, but although they made a close 3eareh were unable to find any trace of him; so they gave the alarm, and the father of the lads, with others, appeared on the scene, the body being eventually recovered by Mr James Knowles. Life, however, was extinct. An inquest will be held to-morrow.
