W C.T.U CONVENTION.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Palmerston North, last night. At the W.C.T.U. Convention tho New Zealand Constitution was altered in the direction of providing that no member of the convention shall have more than one vote. Officers wore elected as follows : President, Mrs Atkinson, Wellington; Corresponding Secretary, Miss Powell, Christchurch ; Recording Secretary, Miss Maunders, Hawera ; Treasurer, Mrs Hill, Napier. Superintendents of Departments: Evangelistic, Mrs Kirkland, ' Dunedin ; home meetings, Mrs Crump, Nelson; medal contests, Mrs Hill and Mrs Mazengarb, Dunedin ; educational meetings, Miss Powell ; Sabbath observance, Miss Minchin, Coyleton ; work among the young people, Mrs Mazengarb; Maori work, Mrs Sckuackenberg, Auckland ; scientific temperance, Miss Maunder, unfermented wine work, Mr Plurner, Auckland ; influencing the press, Mrs Cole, Christchurch; purity and rescue work, Mrs Webb, Ormondville; mothers’ meetings, Mrs Gaskin, Greymouth ; Bible in schools, Mrs Dew-ar, Auckland ; narcotics, Miss Kirk, Wellington ; work among seamen, Mrs Whitley, Lyttelton ; relief work, Mrs Corlett, Auckland; legal and .parliamentary, Mrs Sheppard, Christchurch, and Mrs Atkinson ; anti-gambling, Mrs Lichfield, Blenheim. It was arranged to hold the convention of 1903 in DunediD. The convention has closed.
