PRESENTATION OF PRIZES.

EAST COAST MOUNTED RIFLES.

After the business of the East Coas Mounted Rifles bad been disposed of 01 Saturday night, Major Winter presented several prizes won in connection with shooting and the Sports held in November last. The most coveted prize was one presented by Mrs Tuck, of Napier, to the highest scorer in the Marksman’s Badge course, and which was won by Corporal Piric who also won a handsome gold oiveu by Lieutenant Tombleson for the best score at 000 and SOO yards in the class tiring. _ Other prizes given by Lieutenant lombleson in connection with the class firing, were -—Silver and gold medal for second scorer at 600 and 800 yards, won by Sergeant Fan-lie ; gold medal for highest at 200 and 500 yards, won by Trooper Oates ; and a gold and silver medal for the second score at the latter ranges, which went to Lieutenant Hutehinson. All the winners at the Military Sports were presented with handsome prizes. One which needs special mention was a razor given to Trooper Oates, who was adjudged the best-dressed lady in the Gretna Green race. The several donees expressed great appreciation of the liberality of the givers of the various prizes, and especially wished their thanks conveyed to Mrs Tuck, whose prize was both very handsome and valuable, and to Lieutenant Tombleson, who i has on many occasions been most generous to the Corps.
