Napier, last night. The weather was splendid for the first day’s racing of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey s Autumn Meeting on Saturday, and the attendance was good. The sum of £4556 was put through tho totalisator. Ihe following are the results : Autumn Handicap, once round : Menura 1, Okoari 2, Cure 3. Also started : Kiwa and Minervo. Won by half a length. Time 1.49 1-6, div. £9 10s. Maiden Hack Race, 6 furlongs : Ilinetaurn 1, Ballynety 2, Elibank 3. Seven others ran. Won comfortably. Time 1.16 4-5, div. £2 4s Od. Hawke’s Bay Cup, 11 miles ; Battleaxe 1, Ideal 2, Kahuwai 3. Sirius also ran. A great race, won by half a head. Timo 2.42 2-5, divs. £2 9s. First Handicap Hurdle Race, I-4 miles : Tirea 1, Rodara 2, Sylvanus 3. Also started: Scallywag, Stockade, Cobra. Time 3.20, divs. £2 18s and £3 16s. Nursery Handicap, 51 furlongs . Porirua 1, Gold Seal 2, Immersion 3. All started. Won by half a length. Time 1.9 1-5, divs. £2 10s and £1 2s. Welter Handicap, once round : Murmur 1, Ogle 2, Vathek 3. Scratched : Comfort.
