PREMIER TESTIMONIAL.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Palmerston North, last night. A meeting was held this afternoon to consider the steps to be taken in connection with the Seddon testimonial. The Mayor presided, and a resolution was adopted unanimously to co-operate with other centres. A committee was appointed to canvass the district towards the testimonial and purso of sovereigns. Owing to the inconvenient hour the meeting was called for the attendance was not as large as it otherwise would have been. ABATTOIRS.

The Mayor and three Councillors left for Wellington to-night to deputationise the Minister of Agriculture on the abattoir question.
