Otago, was concluded tj day, resulting in a win hr the Otago team by an innings and 05 runs. The attendance was small. Going in tho second time the visitors shaped better, and put together 140. Wilson played soundly for 45, Bell 26, Kane 10, Dr Thomson 13, and Maley 10, reached double figures. In the first innings Wilkie took 4 for 6, and Gunthorpe 6 for 21. In the second innings Gunthorpe took 6 for | 60, and Downes -1 for 28. j Mr J. Baker, selector of the South Island team for tho North v. South match, has intimated to the Now Zealand Cricket Council that Downes, Fisher, and Austin will be unable to play in Wellington at Easter.
