BLUFF HARBOR BOARD.
A RECORD YEAR.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Invercargill, last night. The Bluff Harbor Board balance-sheet showed a record in the history of the port. The Chairman said that the increased receipts were due to the large export of grain, nearly four and a-half million bushels. The shipping totalled 253 vessels, of 376,709 tons, an increase over 1900 of 45 vessels and 78,308 tons. The figures were considerably more than double those of 1890. Tho gross receipts were .£21,612, against j£17,005 for 1900. The expenditure was .£17,270, as against £19,459 for the previous year. The extraordinary expenditure included wharf repairs and constructions, etc., £7159. The year was begun with a debit balance of £2740, and ended with a credit balance of £I6OO. Tho sinking fund now amounted to £21,439. The excess of assets over liabilities amounts to £41,390, an increase of £4760, Mr Allan Carmichael was elected Chairman.
