THE RISE IN FLOUR.

GREAT INDIGNATION IN CHRISTCHURCH.

[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Christchurch, last night.

Considarable disgust is felt here at tho action of the Millers’ Trust in raising the price of flour to £8 per ton, while selling it in Auckland at £6 10s. Offers have been received here from Australia to put Uour on board a t £7 to £7 2s 6d, and it is understood that a quantity is already on the passage to New Zealand. AVith duty and freight, this should land it at £8 10s to £8 12s 6d, and, as the freight is about the same from Australian ports to Wellington as from Lyttelton or southern ports to AVellington, even with the duty added, there wiil not be much difference in price between the South Island and the Australian article.
