SIR J. G. WARD’S TOUR.
WAITED ON BY DEPUTATIONS.

Sir J. G. Ward arrived here this evening from Inglewood, where ho opened the Post-office, and was banquotted both at Stratlord and Inglowood. The Minister was deputationised re noxious weeds at the atter place, and the ravages of ragwort were particularly emphasised. Sir Joseph Ward promised to wire'at once to the Minister in charge of the Department, urging action and the fulfilling of the promise. On his arriving here he was also waited on ir reference to public health matters. In reply he pointed out that satisfactory work was being done by Government in this direction. He stated tho expense of inedixal officers was borne by Government but it was only fair for the local bodies to bear the cost of sanitary inspectors for local matters. Tte Minister left here for Auckland by he Fgapuhia.
