Railway Works.
(To the Editor of the Times.)
Sir, —In response to “Young New Zealander’s ” request to furnish him with 17 men’s names, I think it is a bit of presumption on his part ti think that I would do such a thing as would endanger those men from getting a livelihood anywhere, which would mean that about 40 mouths that are depending on their earnings would be deprived of a decent living. Of course when he talks £5 I will have to back down, as I have not got that many shillings after paying my way on 6s Bd, 7s 4d, 7s 4d a day ; that is not counting wet weather, for we lose that, besides finding one's own shovels. Now, sir, as “Young New Zealander ” is a rank outsider in this particular case I think the best thing for him is to have no more to say on the matter unless he can tell me why we got 7s 4d.—l am, O.n-e of the Sufferers. [This correspondence must now cease. —Ed. Times.!
