COMMERCIAL.
PUHATIKOTIKO STOCK SALE. Messrs "Wyllie and Mason and Messrs Common, Shelton, and Co., held their yearly stock sale at Puhatikotiko yesterday. There was a fairly representative attendance, but bidding for the lots offered was slow. The entries of sheep was largo, but as there was little or no competition most of the lots offered were passed. The Waihuka sheep were most in favor, and several lines of ewes were disposed of at eight shillings. Regret was expressed by those preseut at the result of the sale. The firms mentioned hold a sale at Waerenga-a-hika on Wednesday next, and Messrs Common, Shelton and Co. have a sale at Waimata, at Mr Akroyd’s yards, on Tuesday next, when 2000 sheep of good sorts will be offered. MESSRS DALGETY AND CO.S SALEAttention is directed to several additions to Messrs Dalgety and Co.’s sale on the 17th inst. Present entries include twenty two- and three-year-old steers, fifteen eight to twelve months steers, twenty two-year-old steers, and several lines of heifers and cows. Four hundred full-mouth crossbred ewes and thirty Lincoln rams will also be offered. Mr G. E. Eliott will conduct the sale.
