FANCY FAIR.
The Fancy Fair in connection with St. Mary’s Catholic Church was last evening brought to a cloic, and the I promoters have every reason to be pleased with Lbe result of their efforts. The attendance last night was quite as large as on the three previous evenings of the Bair. Splendid business was done in the several stalls. Chief interest of course centred in the many art unions that are promoted, and the committee supervising the same were kept busy for two or three hours. The handsome hand-painted mirror, the work of Mrs fccott, was won by Mr Field, of Waimata, who also carried oh several other valuable prues, A beautiful hand-painted satin panel was won by Mr Fred. Parker, am a valuable painted folding screen from Mrs Martin’s stall by Mrs O’Donnell. The bride, which was on view at Mrs Finn’s stall, was won by Mr J. Buchanan, of Auckland, andanetber bride was won by Mr Dower. A third bride, together with a bridegroom, was won by Mr Palariet. The handsome monogram quilt, from the Huia stall, went to Mrs C. Rolands. In the ping pong contests Miis Heany defeated Miss Elliott after a dose game, and Mr Howaclh was successful in the competition for gentlemen., The ladies who assisted at the fair are to be congratulated upon the success of their elforts. It is anticipated that the bazaar will prove most satisfactory from a financial point oi view, and where one and all worked so hard such should cer Lainly be the case,-
