GISBORNE RACING GLOB'S MEETING. The summer meeting of the Gisborne Racing Club commences at ilie Park Company’s grounds to-morrow, and, given tine weather, there should be a large attendance at the races. The grounds are in splendid condition,, and with the recent rain they nave improved, and now show a fine sward- of green. All the arrangements are well forward, and everything points to a successful meeting. The Cells for all the events are large, and some good racing may ~e expected. For the Hurdles six hoises have accepted, and [ as all are first-class hurdlers a good contest should ensue. Ten are expected to face ihe starter in the Flying Handicap, and in this event also there should be an exciting go. The Park Stakes has a field of eleven, and there should be keen speculation in this event for the horses engaged are so handicapped that it will be a very difficult matter to pick the winner. Five have accepted for the Summer Handicap, in which event the winner is also well concealed. The nominations for the First Hack total sixteen, and no doubt a large proportion of that manner will accept. There are thirteen nominations for the First Welter, and doubtless a splendid field will face the starter. It is thus seen that there will be good fields xor the various events, and it only remains for the weather to be fine in order to allow of a record attendance and a successful gathering.
