The Deceased Wife’s Sister Bill, introduced into the House of Commons by Mr Butberford, has been road a second timo by 249 votes to 124. An election to fill the vacancy for East Down, consequent on Mr Bentoul’s appointment to a minor judgeship, resulted in Mr Wood, a supporter of Mr Bussells land purchase scheme, defeating Mr Wallace, Unionist, by 147.
