The quantify of wool catalogued to dato is 185,500 bales : sold to Home buyers, 93,000: Continental buyers, 77,000 ; American, 1000; total ovor, 14,500 bales. Tallow: 449 casks were offered and 113 sold. Mutton, fine, is at 38s 6d; medium, 33s 6d ; beef, fine, 34s ; medium, 31s. Wellington, last night. Mr Cameron, Inspector of New Zealand' Produco at Home, reports that business' men in London who handle flax from the colony consider that the compulsory grad* ing of hemp will bo of great advantage to them in carrying through sales if a proper classification is adopted and the graders do their work thoroughly. At tho time Mr Cameron wrote his report, January 3rd, the tone of-the marketj[was healthy, and the prospects wore considered good.
