Railway Hands.

i (To tho Editor or Sl Kj As ono who worked on tho GisborneKaraka railway, I object to any waster writing to the papers saying the workmon do not intend to pay the tradesmen, as they only got 7s 4d a day. I would ask any sane person if they think Mr Marshall or Mr Jeff would wrong them out of their wages. In fairness to a lot of good men that worked on tho line, it i 3 a pity this waster who tries to slander honest workmen was not bumped off tho line months ago ; he is known to bo the poorest workman on the line, for a young mau. lam sorry to see such a fine lot of men out of work, but hope it won’t be for long, as good men are worth their hire ; but tho waster, oh ! —I am, etc., Young New Zealander. p.S.—My only debt- is my sub. to tho Times, which will bo paid when the weather is cooler. —Y.N.Z.
