Messrs Williams and Kettle report:— “We held a successful sale -of sheep at Wairakaia on Tuesday. There was a large attendance of farmers from all over the district, and we quitted most of the stock yarded. The offerings consisted principally of ewes and lambs. Ewes made from 7s for forward full-mouth ewes, 6s for 5-year-old ewes, 5s for ewes a shade pooror, and 3s 6d for aged cull ewe 6. -Lambs made from 4s to ss. We sold 27 English Leicester rams, prices ranging from 24 to 34 guineas. Several Lincoln rams brought a guinea a-piece, and two Border Leicester rams sold at 3 guineas. There wore very few buyers for cattle and horses, and the bulk of the offerings in these lines were withdrawn. Our sale at Matawbero takes place on Thursday, when we have a very large entry, both in cattle and sheep.”
