BOWING.
The Gisborne Bowing Club have commenced their trial fours for tho trophies presented by Messrs Adair Bros.’ On Tuesday evening Harding (str), Ngatai (3), F. Miller (2), Craig (bow), and Warren (cos), met A. Sherriff (strj, Bright (3), Claro (2), East (bow), Doyle (cox), the race resulting in a win for Harding's crew by three-quarters of a length. Last evening Harding’s crew beat Symes’, and Williams’ beat Kobinson’s.
The Poverty Bay Bowing Club commenced tbclr double-scull races for Mr H. B. Smith’s medals on Tuesday evening, when H. Taylor and H. Smith beat J. Webb and B. Power, and Nicholson and Boyla defeated Pritchard and Pool. Last evening A. Pool and C. Peterson vanquished J. Parker and B. Maynard, and M. McLeod and G. Tait were victors over W. West and W. Lewis. The members of the Gisborne Bowing Club are now making arrangements in view of the annual match with tho Union Club, Napier.
