London, Fob. 2. Wool is brisk and firm. The late weakness has disappeared. Merinos are unchanged. Lower crossbreds are occasionally slightly cheaper. Turoa sold at 4 5-Bd, Buchanan Bid, Kaputane lG.kl. The total quantity catalogued to date is 189,481 bales, and sold 138,473 bales. New Zealand lamb, mutton, and beef are unchanged. River Plate sheep have declined a sixteenth.
Copper, on spot, 55]- ; at three months, 5u 8-8. The stock of tallow is 6078 casks, the imports being 3073, and deliveries 3984. Tin, spot, IOBi ; at three months, 1004 ; the stocks consist of 18776 tons; on the spot 5648 tons ; afloat, 2021 ; deliveries, 24,340. Wellington, last night. The Agent-General’s cablegram, dated London, February Ist, states .* —“ Alteration in the mutton market since last week. Lamb is dull, Australian in large supply. New season’s Canterbury brands, 6 l-Bd. Beef firm ; New Zealand hinds, 4ijd, fores 8 l-Bd. Butter firm at 107 s. Cheese steady at 00s. Hemp firm ; good fair Wellingtop is at £34 ; March and Mayshipments £33. Cocksloot, steady, 40s.
