Mls Scffel, wife of a warder of Pittsburg gaol, chloroformed her husband, armed her two brothers, Edw-ard and John Biddell, imprisoned for murder, and enabled them to escape in a sleigh, herself eloping with Kdward. The Sher-rift overtook and shot the brother, who refused to surrender. Mrs Sollel attempted suicide.
