EFFORTS TO COMPLETE THE WORK.

(By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, last night,

Fresh efforts are being made to raise funds to complete the Christchurch Cathedral, and Canon Pollock, who has been commissioned to take the matter in hand, addressed a meeting of business and professional men to-day. He stated that a considerable sum would be saved if the work was gone on with at once, and the contractors had stated that- if this was done they could complete it in eighteen months. A representative committee of laymen was appointed to take steps to raise £7OOO, which is the sum required.
