WEATHER INTERFERES WITH PLAY.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AVellington, last night.

As the weather gave indications of clearing up about five o’clock, the Wellington and Palmerston Clubs decided to play off to decide which was entitled to rank as second to tho champion team in the inter-club competition. Play in mud resulted, and rain began to fall before the game concluded. Ballinger’s and Drew’s teams continued on to the bitter end, but McLean and Mowlern pulled out with ten heads to go. Ballinger’s team scored 22 to Drew’s 11, and the other game stands : McLean 22, Mowlern 8, Wellington thus leading by 25 points with ten heads to play.
