By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, last night. This morning the Mayor received the following cablegram direct from the Hon. Mr Chamberlain in acknowledgment of the resolution passed at last Monday evening’s meeting of the Auckland City Council in reference to the recent German' slanders on the British Army:—“The Mayor, Auckland: Thank you for the resolution of the Auckland City Council. We appreciate the patriotism everywhere displayed by our fellow-subjects in Australasia.—Chamberlain.”
