Further warrants for jGSOO on behalf of the owners, the captain, and crew of the tug Champion have been issued against the Port Patrick. It is reported that the Oceanic Company intend making Melbourne a port of call. The Federal House has fixed the duty on barbed wire at tcnpence. Adelaide, Jan. 23. An attendant named Dorrieotti, who entered the cage of a bear at- the Zoological Gardens to feed it, was badly mangled. The bear had to be shot before a rescue could be effected.
Sydney, Jan. 23. Owing to want of water aua the fall in price of copper, most of the mines in Cobar district have been closed. Over five hundred men have been thrown out of employment.
Island news states that tribal fighting has been rife for some time at Santo. Seven people were killed and a number wounded.
