GISBORNE DEFEATED IN TWELFTH ROUND.

By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, last night. Tho Bowling Tournament was continued to-day. The following are the results of play :

Waverley 42 beat Ponsonby 34, Newmarket 43 beat Feilding 32, Wellington 49 beat Palmerston 29, Gisborne 39 beat Petone 35, Masterton 33 beat Wanganui 31, Newtown 50 beat Victoria 36, Auckland 41 beat Hastings 35, Mount Eden 44 beat Remuera 40, Napier 39 beat New Plymouth 31, Thorndon 34 beat Bluff Hill 33, TWELFTH ROUND. Palmerston 55 beat Gisborne 26, Victoria 44 beat Newmarket 36, Masterton 42 beat Ponsonby 34, Carterton 37, beat Waverley 30, Wellington 52 boat Newtown 45, Wanganui 37 beat Petone 20, Hastings 38 beat Remuera 28, New Plymouth 66 beat Auckland 17, Thorndon 38 beat Mount Eden 29, Napier 44 beat Bluff Hill 38.

The Victoria Club is leading at present with nine wins and two losses. Palmerston has eight wins and two losses. Thorndon has eight wins and three losses. Masterton, Napier, Newmarket and New Plymouth have each seven wins.

(Special to Times.) Wellington, last night. A northerly gale, with rain, .interfered with to-day’s play, and the first round had to be abandoned. Gisborne defeated Pet-one by five points, Coleman’s rink tying with their opponents, whilst Ponsford secured a victory by the points stated- In the evening Gisborne met Palmerston, who are leading for the “ Banner,” but were badly beaten, being outmatched in all departments of the game. Coleman’s rink made a good stand against Drew, their rink ending 2G to 20 on the last head but one. Coleman, when lying sixth, knocked his opponent’s shot with his last bowl. Ponsford was beaten by 30 to 0. Gisborne’s champion skip is in very poor health, and his play is much below his usual form. The members of the team were entertained to-night at the residence of Mr John Dutliie, President of the Wellington Bowling Club.
