Tho following is a description of tho race for the Thames Steeplechase : —At tho double jump opposite tho stand, the second timo round, All Fours came to grief, and after ono attempt to get over he was withdrawn. On coming up to the thorn fence, after passing the straight, Straybird and Scallywag both ran off. On taking the post-und-rail jump Evermore fell, and this allowed Cronje'to run homo the winner by considerably more than tho length of tho straight, whilst Evermore, who had been remounted, was a similar distance ahead of Scallywag, who had again joined in tho race.
